George Marakas

CEO, Angeliki, LLC
george@littleangeloliveoil.com

Dr. George M. Marakas is the CEO here at Little Angel. He regularly reminds us that his title of CEO stand for "chief everything officer." Nothing could be more true! At any given moment he can be found talking to a new supplier in Greece, working with Angela and Kevin on new product designs, knee deep in coding something for the website, writing a new blog article, or taking out the trash. His enthusiasm and entrepreneurial spirit is infectious.

In addition to his responsibilities at Little Angel, George has also enjoyed a highly successful business career and academic career. He is currently Professor of Information Systems at the College of Business at Florida International University and he is an active and widely published researcher in the field of information Systems.

George is definitely a Greek! He loves great olive oil (of course), Greek food, and everything about Greece. Angeliki says that its easy to see that he is Greek by the way he drives. His family's roots come from Greece in a small village near Kalamata. The Marakas family has owned olive groves there for over 150 years so all this is in his DNA. His desire to serve combined with his passion for everything Greek motivated him to help bring Little Angel to life.

periptero 2If you ask George to name his favorite things about being Greek, he would be quick to answer: feta, tiropita, and, above all, peripteros! The periptero, or cigarette kiosk, is as much a part of Greece as tavernas or ouzo. These wooden cubes, usually painted yellow, are literally on every street corner in Greece! They were established after the war to provide employment for war veterans and mostly have been passed down the family line. You can find just about everything you need at the nearest periptero. George swears you could buy a car if you needed one.

We think his goal is to run a Little Angel periptero in downtown Athens! You never know.

Angeliki Aninou

President, Angeliki, LLC
angela@littleangeloliveoil.com

Angeliki Aninou is the President at Little Angel and she brings being Greek to a whole new level. You can't do any better than have the company and the brand named after you! Angeliki (we just call her Angela) makes sure everything about Little Angel, from the quality of the product to the cleanliness of the conference table is up to her standards and she is the reason Little Angel is all about quality.

Angela was born in Patras, Greece and raised there until moving to the U.S.  to complete high school. She received her MBA from Florida International University and went on to enjoy a highly successful business career as an information technology consultant and auditor with several major consulting firms throughout the world. She has worked in the cruise industry as a network specialist and was part of the network team that moved the data around at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

Angela has traveled all over the planet and she loves all kinds of cuisines. She is a fantastic cook and is the epitome of the Greek hostess. If we have a get together for ten people, when everyone is stuffed to the brim with Mediterranean delicacies, there is still food left over for another ten people. She regularly reminds us that running out of food is a sin in Greece and it is simply not done.

Like the rest of us here at Little Angel, she is passionate about olive oil and she loves bringing its healthy qualities and benefits to the tables of all of our Little Angel family of friends.

Travis Johnson

Lead Pastor - Pathway Church | Christian Leadership, Angeliki, LLC
info@littleangeloliveoil.com

Travis Johnson is the pastor of Life Pointe Church in Homestead, FL (Greater Miami). He enjoys communication studies, spiritual entrepreneurship, cycling, and cultivating faith in Jesus personally, locally, and globally. He is married to his best friend and ministry partner, Kelly Webb Johnson. He is the father of 3 active, curious, and just plain happy children: Kourtney, McKenna, and Blake.

Travis and George became best friends and made a deal: George would serve as Travis' business counselor and Travis would serve as George's spiritual counselor. They stuck to their deal but George thinks he is getting the better side of it most of the time!

When George and Angela began looking at the idea of Little Angel, Travis immediately shared their excitement and encouraged them to pursue the plan. Being able to bring great taste and health to new friends while serving others through fellowship and fundraising sounded great to Travis and he became a part of the team. As Little Angel continues to develop its fundraising and mission outreach, it is Travis who helps guide us in the right direction and makes sure we capture the spirit of giving in all of our outreach and communications.

As George puts it, "Just his friendship is enough but knowing he is a part of the team makes everything better."
